From Humble Beginnings to UK's Leading Soft Furnishing Manufacturer in the heart of West Midlands.
Loft 25 began in 2008 as an online retailer of bedding products sourced from UK suppliers and sold on eBay. We saw rapid growth from the start. As more and more products were being added, more space was required.
In early 2009, we moved into our first business premises which was a small unit of around 2000sqft. Due to the competitiveness of the eCommerce industry, the company designed and produced our own products. This enabled us to grow further when many smaller retailers struggled to maintain margins in such a cutthroat environment.
From the rapid growth, in 2011, the company moved into a much larger manufacturing facility of 11,500 sqft at St. James Place with the continued expansion of range and volume. A full-time R&D team was added as well as CAD systems to aid the design process.
In 2015, an additional 12,000sqft warehouse was taken on for extra storage of filling materials as well as a new sewing unit. We employed 25 full-time machinists to meet demand and accommodate the new machinery being added to increase capacity.
Continual R&D meant new products were added rapidly to our product ranges. Eventually, we covered the entire breadth of the products, making the company a significant player in the UK market. By the summer of 2016, there were over 100 sewing machinists required to match sales with most working from home on a freelance basis.
It was decided in 2017 that the company should move to one large premises, Wykes House to consolidate operations all under one roof.
